One of the greatest humanist writers of the 20th century, Forster was nomintated for the Nobel Prize in Literature in twenty seperate years beginning in 1945. The stories presented in The Eternal Moment were written predominantly prior to the outbreak of the First World War, though remained unpublished until 1928.

First edition, first impression. Publisher's maroon cloth boards title and design in gilt. Spine rolled and rubbed with the back hinge cloth detaching; page block starting though remains intact. Both boards rubbed and marked, corners bumped. Reserve stock stamped in red to front inner, where a large printed label has been removed. Otherwise internally bright and clean.
