Despite having published several of his earlier works, and continuing to do so after this edition, Newnes did not end up with the right for first publication for this collection. However, they appeared to have followed the true first by Ransome relatively closely with this imitation (though undated) edition.

Publisher's illustrated wraps imitate the style of the first, with a woman in contemporary dress standing, and a seated mustachioed man. Wear to all edges though text remains intact albeit toned throughout with some foxing.
